the freeroll challenge - day 8

I dident write any review from yesterday. I only played in the 1$ 2100$ added at pokerstars but was out very fast.

Apart from that i played some cash at absolute poker, but lost and my bankroll took a little dive,

Today im giving the usual nordic 2500$ freeroll a shot. Im really amazed how easy it is to start building a bankroll from nothing. If you are from europe and can play in this nordic freeroll i would say that an average player can cash minimum 2$ in atleast 1 of 5 tournaments.

6451 players are in the tour today.
As usual half the table is sitting out, so there are preflop stealing going on constantly. I dont understand why so many people register but dont play. I do pretty good though and double up taking down small pots within the first half hour.

Then an intersting hand comes up. (hh 1) A player is moved to the table with 1375 and moves all in in early possition. Now im pretty sure that im ahead here with my 9-9. Very few players make this move with a pair thats better than my nines. It can very well be 2 high cards but there is also a good chance that its a smaller pair or even an ace with a lower kicker than a nine. I can survive the gamble so i take my chances and move. Now there are still players behind me, but most of them are sitting out. He shows 10-q and hits the 10 on the flop. He also hits a 10 on the turn, BUT a 9 on the river saves me and i take it down.

The next hand i get 4-4 in BB (hh 2) and catch a set on the flop. I raise and bet the pot all the way and we are heads up on the river where when i bet he tries to bluff me with the rest of hes stack when the river brings a 3rd heart. The pot is way to big though and i call and win it. Im now already up to 7000.

Just before the first break i take a hit though. I pick up 8-8 and raise it. (hh 3) Late possition calls it and flop comes 3-6-6. He dosent have much left so i put him all in and he makes a “tough” call with 6-6 giving him quads on the flop. Im done to 4500 in chips, but still in the game.

We go on break and i have 5170 in chips. Average is 6591 and we are 1464 players left. Blinds are now 300-150 with 25 ante.

A few hands in a situation comes up that i want to explain why not to play like this. (hh 4)
There are 2 limbers in the pot and i have k-10 in sb and call. Flop comes 2-4-6 with 2 spades. Everybody checks and the turn brings a 3 of spade. River is a king and early possition bet minimum bet of 300. The player in late possition now makes a minimum raise and shows 5-7 giving him a straight that wins the hand. This is a bad play though. He should have betted on the turn and not give anymore free cards to a flushdraw. Also by making the minimum reraise he most likely only gets a call if hes beat and often a reraise if hes up agains the flush putting him in a very bad spot.

Im getting low stack now and its time to try and doubble up.
I get 4-4 and im sitting thinking if its time to move now with 4000 left and 1000 already in the pot. I dont realise i have used my timebank, and before i know it my hand gets folded and offcourse a 4 comes on the flop.

I then get 9-j in sb and limb.(hh 5) Flop comes a-9-2 and its checked to the turn that brings a 4. I now think i have the best hand with my 9 and push it, but middle pos had a-9 with 2 pair on flop and was sucking my in. Dammit im gone finishing as number 756.
